The Toppler Project

Toppler Project is a community supporting the Toppler™ initiative.

I am going to do a video post on this very soon, but I'd hate to give out bad information because of my bias.

Okay, What is everyone's take on business plans? I am a very grass roots kind of guy, and my business plan consists of only a few things: What my business is, what my goals are, who my competitors are and what they are doing, and a little bit of financial forecasting. I know that some people advocate heavily detailed plans, but I see my business needing to adapt to change very quickly so I find it hard to see the benefit of a detailed plan.

Hi Dean. Writing a business plan is essential for setting the course of your business (hopefully towards success). Otherwise you're just drifting. A business plan doesn't have to be elaborate, even some outlines will help you, starting with the 5W's, who, why, where, what, when.. and the big H, How. Define your audience, your niche, even your passion... that's part of your plan, why do you want to do what you plan to do, what drives you.. then the business plan will unfold, you will be able to communicate with others, share ideas, ask for advice.. and so on. Marc
I like this conversation, and all sides. Business plans are definitely an essential. I struggle with them every time, but my business partner is always one who strongly encourages it no matter how difficult the task. Financial forecasting is for sure my weak point in it.

Hello Sana. I'm glad we could be of help. That's what a forum is for. Good luck with your business plan!
Hi Marc, I'm looking forward to connect with you here on Toppler!

I like your website http://www.marcposchdesign.com

I'm really interested in building websites myself. My route is to get a wordpress theme developer package, use my unlimited hosting, and try to build websites for people. I'm hoping I can collaborate with web design companies and be the social media aspect to keep the activity on their website afloat! Your thoughts are welcome!
