Your brand should be like a music playlist. I had the song "Pushit" from the band Tool going on through my head. I didn't even realize it for a few minutes as I worked in silence on a Saturday; a Saturday in which I should be just hanging out with my kids. Anyway, so I have the song spinning around in my head and then I realized that I have the song on my computer. I opened up Windows Media Player and started the song. It was instant gratification, and in a number of ways. For one, I am no longer in complete silence. I also will now - for the most part - get it out of my head as long as I continue with the readily available list of other songs. Most importantly, I got what I wanted. I am sure I will be listening to Doors or Mudvayne by the end of the day too. The point is if our brands were like a playlist, a readily available solvent to a person’s immediate problem, I think we would increase revenue and also generate customer satisfaction.
More on this later I suppose.
